We have collaborated with 13 local, independent, and interdisciplinary artists as part of our 'We Are Freo' collection to bring you a one-of-a-kind, limited run of ANJELMS Project T-shirts. Each T-shirt is designed with the artist’s interpretation and personal connection to Fremantle city and is printed on Earth Positive T-shirts by Ethical Tees.
Ethical Tees are based in Sydney Australia and all products are made by the team there. Sabine has such a vibrant, unique style, and with a background in microbiology, it is easy to see why Australian wildlife and the ocean are a constant inspiration in her work. Her Rainbow Container Key design is a combination of two iconic symbols in Fremantle – the Rainbow shipping container sculpture on Canning Highway that overlooks the port, and the Round House Prison which is one of Fremantle’s original buildings. Together, these symbols come together to form a key design, which represents the unlocking of one’s potential in a city that is full of creativity, adventure and possibilities. The two symbols also represent a sort of feeling of home for Sabine, as her home overlooks both the Shipping Container sculpture and the old Fremantle Prison.
Belen’s work Began after four years of training in Spain, and has taken her across the world from Portugal to Southern France, to Bali and now to Fremantle. After 15 years, Belen’s work has been greatly influenced by Fremantle, its colours, people and nature. This design is inspired by Belen’s own connection to Fremantle’s iconography, its unique images that represent its community and spirit. The line upon which all of the images sit represents the time and space that connects all of them, the coastal, homely nature of Fremantle.
